The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) says there is enough evidence to charge an OPP officer in a March incident involving a 45-year-old man at a Toronto police station.
The SIU probe determined that the man was at the OPP station on Keele Street for fingerprinting on March 8, and a verbal exchange occurred between him and the officer.
No further details were provided about the incident. But Const. Ludgero Café faces one charge of uttering a threat to cause bodily harm.
Café is expected in a Toronto court on Oct. 16.
The agency, which investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or
allegations of sexual assault, says it will not be making further comments now that the matter is before the courts.
